Brass & Wood Louis XVI Grand Dining Table
Design Inspiration
Rooted in the refined elegance of Louis XVI Neoclassical France, this grand dining table by Brass & Wood captures the restrained grandeur of late 18th-century court furniture. The sweeping shaped top, delicately scalloped edges, and continuous swag-and-tassel frieze along the apron evoke the symmetry and dignity of the Versailles aesthetic.
Materials & Finish
Crafted from solid dark-toned wood finished to a rich satin sheen, the table features extensively gilded carved ornamentation — including acanthus capitals, fluted and tapered legs with gilt ring details, and a central urn motif on the crossed stretcher base — achieved through meticulous hand-application of gold leaf.
Craftsmanship
Every element is hand-carved and finished by Brass & Wood artisans in Cairo. The apron carries a continuous relief of draped swags and floral rosettes; the legs are classically fluted with acanthus-leaf capitals; the arched stretcher base terminates in a decorative gilded urn centerpiece — hallmarks of master cabinetmaking tradition.
