Louis XV Demilune Marquetry Commode – Rosewood & Brass Inlay
Royal Inspiration of the Louis XV Era
This magnificent demilune commode draws its soul from the opulent courts of 18th-century France, where graceful curves, natural motifs, and gilded accents defined the essence of the Louis XV Rococo style. The semi-circular silhouette, adorned with sweeping floral arabesques and a central urn composition, embodies the romantic extravagance of Versailles interiors.
Materials & Finish
Crafted from solid rosewood and exotic zebrawood banding, every surface is a canvas of hand-laid marquetry featuring flowers, scrolling vines, and classical urns rendered in contrasting fruitwoods and satinwood veneers. Gilded antique brass hardware — including bow-shaped drawer pulls and escutcheons — adds a warm metallic counterpoint to the deep walnut tones. A lower display shelf, equally adorned with marquetry, completes the architectural composition.
Craftsmanship by Brass & Wood
Each piece is individually handcrafted by master artisans at Brass & Wood in Egypt, who preserve centuries-old European joinery and inlay techniques. Three graduating drawers glide smoothly on hand-fitted runners, while cabriole legs with scrolled feet provide both structural elegance and authentic period character. Dimensions: H 75 cm × W 60 cm × D 30 cm.
