3-Seat Louis XV Gilded Salon Sofa – Damask Brocade
Royal Inspiration: The Louis XV Salon Sofa
Drawing from the opulent courts of eighteenth-century France, this 3-seat salon sofa captures the essence of Louis XV Rococo design. The undulating serpentine backrest, crowned with a central carved floral medallion, flows gracefully into scrolled armrests that embody the fluid asymmetry and organic curves synonymous with this golden era of French decorative arts.
Materials & Upholstery
The sofa is upholstered in a lustrous damask brocade fabric, woven with a delicate floral pattern in soft aqua tones set against a shimmering gold ground. The resulting textile achieves a depth of colour and texture worthy of a royal salon. The solid wood frame is finished in rich gold leaf, accentuating every carved detail of the rope-twist border, cabriole legs, and ornate apron.
Gilded Solid Wood Frame
Each curve of the frame is shaped from fine solid wood and hand-finished with gold leaf gilding, ensuring a warm, radiant lustre that deepens over time. The intricate rope-twist motif running along the entire perimeter is a hallmark of master craftsmanship and a signature Louis XV decorative element.
