Cinderella Louis XVI Bed with Carved Floral Garland in Antiqued Ivory

A romantic Louis XVI bed built around a tall, gently arched headboard framed in hand-carved rope-twist and beaded moulding, crowned at each corner by turned posts with softly domed finials. The footboard is the showpiece: a serpentine panel carved in relief with a ribbon-tied floral garland that swags from one side to the other, echoed by fluted, tapering legs and carved rosette blocks. The entire frame wears an antiqued ivory patina, rubbed back along every edge and petal so the carving catches the light rather than disappearing into the paint.

Every element is shaped, carved and hand-finished in our workshop — the raised ornament modelled with the chisel rather than pressed from a mould, and the paint built up in layers, then softly distressed so the piece looks inherited rather than bought. Handcrafted by Brass & Wood in Egypt, it anchors a light, serene bedroom: pale walls, linen bedding and a matching commode on either side complete the French-inspired suite.
