Neo-Classical Four-Seater Sofa
Royal Inspiration: Louis XVI Splendour for Two
The Brass & Wood 2-seat Louis XVI salon sofa is a faithful homage to the refined grandeur of 18th-century French neoclassical court furniture. Straight, architectural lines are softened by exquisitely carved gilt acanthus-leaf crests along the top rail, rope-twist mouldings along the seat rail, and rosette medallions adorning the fluted tapered legs — every detail an echo of Versailles at its most luminous.
Materials & Upholstery
The frame is constructed from fine solid hardwoods, finished in a deep burgundy-toned lacquer and lavishly accented with hand-applied gold-leaf gilding on all carved surfaces. The seat, back and armrests are upholstered in a sumptuous ivory damask fabric whose tone-on-tone baroque scrollwork pattern adds a layer of understated opulence. Three coordinating scatter cushions in matching ivory fabric complete the composition.
Artisan Craftsmanship
Every piece is handcrafted in Egypt by the skilled artisans of Brass & Wood. Frame joinery is executed using traditional woodworking techniques, and the gilding is applied by hand, layer by layer, to achieve the warm luminosity seen in period originals. Upholstery is hand-tacked for a precise, wrinkle-free finish.
Placement & Styling
Ideal for a formal living room, private reception space, or a stately home library, this 2-seat sofa pairs beautifully with matching Brass & Wood armchairs and occasional tables from the same Louis XVI collection, creating a cohesive, palatial interior.
