Louis XVI Neoclassical Demilune Commode with Marble Top & Ormolu Mounts
Royal Inspiration
Inspired by the grandeur of late 18th-century French court furniture, this demilune commode echoes the refined elegance of Versailles cabinetmakers. The iconic fleur-de-lis lattice marquetry panels pay homage to France's most celebrated royal motif, rendered with extraordinary precision.
Exceptional Materials
The carcass is built from solid kiln-dried walnut, adorned with hand-cut satinwood and rosewood marquetry inlays. The generous demi-lune top is fashioned from genuine pink-veined marble, lending natural beauty to every surface. Gilded ormolu bronze mounts — friezes, escutcheons, corner capitals, and tapered leg sabots — are cast and hand-chased in solid brass with an antique gold finish.
Craftsmanship
Each piece is entirely hand-assembled by Brass & Wood master artisans in Egypt, honoring centuries-old joinery techniques. Dovetail-joined drawers, hand-rubbed lacquer finishes, and individually fitted bronze hardware ensure heirloom-quality construction that endures generations.
