Materials & Craftsmanship

Each of the three tables is built on a foundation of solid beech, turned and tapered into the distinctive fluted-column legs that are the unmistakable signature of Louis XVI furniture. The legs terminate in hand-cast brass sabots — torch-flame and acanthus-leaf forms that echo the Neoclassical ornamental vocabulary of the 1770s–1790s. The tabletops are clear tempered glass, held within a triple-tiered pierced brass gallery: the openwork scrolling pattern references the antique rinceaux motif that French ébénistes borrowed from Roman decorative arts. The brass throughout is finished in a warm gold tone, coordinating with the lacquered medium-brown wood of the legs.
