Louis XVI Trifold-Mirror Dressing Table with Carved Ribbon Crest in Ivory
A dressing table crowned by a trifold mirror: a tall arched centre panel with two hinged wings that fold in to catch every angle, all topped by a hand-carved ribbon and bow with trailing foliage. The stepped top carries a small jewellery drawer to each side of a centre apron carved with a ribbon-tied floral swag, while longer drawers with antique-brass drop pulls run beneath, opening on smooth, clean-lined interiors. Fluted, tapering legs and a soft ivory lacquer finish keep the whole piece light and quietly formal.
The mirror frames, crest and swag are carved by hand and fitted to a solid, hand-jointed body, then finished in layered lacquer rubbed back along the mouldings so the relief stays crisp. Handcrafted by Brass & Wood in Egypt, it belongs against a bedroom wall or in a dressing room, paired with a small upholstered stool — a place to keep perfume, jewellery and the morning ritual in one graceful spot.
