Design Inspiration

Rooted in the refined neoclassical vocabulary of Louis XVI France, this three-seat salon sofa channels the era's devotion to architectural symmetry, restrained ornamentation, and noble proportion. The arched, carved crest rail crowns a button-tufted backrest whose graceful curves are framed by intricately worked solid wood panels on both sides, recreating the hallmark enclosed-arm settee silhouette of 18th-century French court furniture. Brass & Wood artisans in Egypt have faithfully reproduced every detail — from the floral rosette at the top of the crest to the delicate bead-and-reel moulding running along the apron — ensuring that heritage lives in every room it graces.

Materials & Upholstery

The structural frame is built from solid hardwood, chosen for its density and long-term stability, then finished by hand in a warm antique-brown tone that accentuates the depth of the carved reliefs. The seat, back, and interior arm panels are upholstered in a natural off-white linen fabric, button-tufted in the classic capitonné style for a look that is simultaneously luxurious and serene. The generous seat cushion provides a comfortable, medium-firm feel suited to both formal entertaining and everyday relaxation.

Craftsmanship

Every sofa in this collection is entirely handcrafted at the Brass & Wood atelier in Egypt. Skilled woodcarvers shape each decorative element — the top crest bouquet, the corner column capitals, the acanthus-leaf corner blocks, and the fluted tapered legs — using traditional hand tools before the frame is assembled, sanded, and finished. The upholstery is then applied by specialist artisans who hand-stitch each button tie to ensure a taut, even diamond pattern that will hold its form over years of use.
