Royal Inspiration – The Courts of Louis XVI

This three-tier tea trolley draws direct inspiration from the refined ébénisterie produced for the Palace of Versailles during the reign of Louis XVI. Characterized by strict Neoclassical symmetry, fluted tapered legs, and delicate swag-and-rosette friezes, the silhouette embodies the elegant restraint that defined late-18th-century French royal interiors. Brass & Wood reimagines this courtly heritage for the modern connoisseur, ensuring every curve and mount speaks of its noble origins.

Materials & Finish

The carcass is constructed from kiln-dried solid hardwood, while the shelving surfaces are veneered in richly figured amboyna burl, whose warm auburn tones and intricate feather-like grain create a living canvas of natural artistry. Every metal element — from the pierced gallery tray crowning the uppermost tier to the scroll-and-acanthus column capitals, draped garland friezes, caster sabots, and ornate side escutcheons — is cast in solid brass and finished to a deep antique gold patina, faithfully replicating the look of period ormolu.

Three Functional Tiers

The elevated pierced-gallery top tier serves as a secure display or serving platform. The generous middle tier, framed by a single frieze drawer lined in rich burgundy velvet, offers concealed storage for silverware or tea accessories. The lower shelf provides ample space for additional service items. Tapered, fluted column legs mounted on rolling brass casters ensure effortless movement across any interior.

Brass & Wood Craftsmanship

Handcrafted in Egypt by the artisans of Brass & Wood, this trolley undergoes meticulous hand-carving, precision veneering, and individual brass-casting before a master gilder applies the final antique gold finish. Each piece is a singular work of decorative art — a functional heirloom destined to enrich a drawing room, library, or formal dining space for generations.
