Louis XVI Neoclassical Three-Tier Tea Trolley | Burl Wood & Gilt Brass
Design Inspiration
Rooted in the refined elegance of the Louis XVI era, this three-tier tea trolley embodies the Neoclassical ideals of symmetry, order, and restrained grandeur. Inspired by the sophisticated salon culture of 18th-century France, every proportion and ornamental detail recalls the celebrated ateliers of Versailles.
Materials & Finish
The body is constructed from premium solid wood veneered in richly figured burl, lending each surface a unique, swirling character. All mounts, gallery rails, corner escutcheons, and scrolled handles are cast in solid brass and finished in a warm antique gold, harmonising seamlessly with the warm amber tones of the burl veneer. The piece rolls gracefully on brass-capped casters.
Ornamental Detail
The apron of the central tier features continuous foliate and acanthus-scroll brass appliqués, while slender fluted columns crowned with brass capitals support the removable upper tray, which is framed by a delicate pierced gallery rail. Scrolled brass brackets cascade between tiers, adding rhythmic visual flow.
