Design Inspiration

Rooted in the grandeur of early 19th-century Napoleonic Empire style, this centre tea table captures the disciplined opulence that defined the era. Geometric interlocking-ring friezes rendered in ebonised wood and gold-leaf brass evoke the classical motifs championed by architects Percier and Fontaine, translating imperial ambition into a domestic centrepiece of rare elegance.

Materials & Finish

The tabletop veneers in lustrous amboyna burl — prized since the Empire period for its fiery, swirling grain. The apron is ebonised solid wood adorned with a continuous brass-inlaid interlocking-ring frieze, punctuated by gilded rosette medallions at each corner block. The four tapered legs are ebonised and fitted with gilded reeded urn capitals that transition seamlessly into slender, tapering shafts ending in fine brass sabots.

Craftsmanship

Every element of this table is handcrafted in Brass & Wood's Cairo atelier by master artisans trained in the traditions of classical European cabinet-making. Gold-leaf gilding is applied by hand in multiple layers, burnished to a warm luminosity. Brass inlays are individually cut, fitted, and polished, ensuring crisp definition against the deep ebonised ground — a hallmark of the Brass & Wood commitment to heirloom-quality furniture.
