Louis XV Bombe Commode with Gilt Bronze Mounts & Marble Top
Design Inspiration
Inspired by the grandeur of 18th-century French court furniture, this bombe commode captures the essence of the Louis XV Rococo style with its dramatically curved silhouette, serpentine front, and elegantly splayed cabriole legs. Every contour whispers the opulence of Versailles.
Materials
Constructed from solid hardwood with richly figured kingwood veneer laid in a chevron parquetry pattern, the commode is crowned with a shaped cream marble top framed in polished brass banding. The hardware comprises hand-cast solid brass ormolu mounts finished in burnished gold, featuring scrolling acanthus leaves, floral garlands, and a central urn motif.
Craftsmanship
Each piece is hand-assembled by Brass & Wood's master artisans in Egypt, where traditional European joinery techniques are combined with meticulous hand-finishing. The two deep drawers glide on precision-fitted wooden runners, while every brass mount is individually fitted, polished, and secured by hand to ensure flawless alignment and longevity.
