Design Inspiration

Inspired by the refined court furniture of late 18th-century France, this console table captures the austere elegance of the Louis XVI Neoclassical movement. Symmetrical lines, tapered fluted legs, and restrained gilt ornamentation reflect the era's turn away from Rococo excess toward architectural clarity and Greco-Roman grandeur.

Materials & Finish

The frame is crafted from solid mahogany finished in a deep warm brown, providing a rich contrast to the creamy veined marble top. Each drawer front and apron is adorned with hand-applied gilt bronze ormolu laurel garland mounts — cast, chased, and gilded individually. Corner rosette mounts and brass sabots at the feet complete the period-authentic metalwork. Drawer interiors are lined with deep crimson velvet for an opulent finishing touch.

Craftsmanship

Every console is handcrafted in the Brass & Wood atelier, where master woodworkers and metalworkers collaborate to replicate the exacting standards of historic European cabinetmaking. Mortise-and-tenon joinery ensures lasting structural integrity, while each ormolu mount is individually fitted and secured by hand.
