This handcrafted wall plaque set is faithfully reproduced in the tradition of Louis XVI Neoclassical decorative arts — a period when French craftsmen disciplined the playful excess of Rococo into measured symmetry, classical motifs, and refined ornamental programmes. The trophée at the crown — a carved arrangement of musical instruments and foliage — is the defining emblem of this era's wall decoration vocabulary, appearing in Versailles interiors and the pattern books of Delafosse and Salembier.

Materials & Craftsmanship

Each of the three circular frames is hand-carved in resin with a dense acanthus scroll border, finished in a warm gilded tone over an ivory ground that gives the piece its characteristic aged luminosity. The trophée crest at the top groups carved horns, ribbons, and leafy branches into a composition that rewards close inspection. At the base, a foliate cartouche with a central rosette anchors the vertical run and provides visual closure. The porcelain inserts within each frame carry hand-applied floral still-life scenes — deep-toned roses in vases rendered in the manner of 18th-century French decorative porcelain — adding colour and depth to an otherwise pale composition.

Dimensions & Details

Width: 17 cm / Height: 60 cm
Set of 3 circular plaque frames on a single vertical mount.
