This magnificent commode draws directly from the golden age of French royal cabinetmaking, capturing the exuberant curves and opulent ornamentation that defined the Louis XV court at Versailles. The dramatically swelling bombe silhouette — broader at centre than at top or base — is the hallmark of mid-18th-century Rococo furniture at its most theatrical.

Exquisite Marquetry & Veneers

Every surface is dressed in meticulously hand-cut wood veneers arranged in chevron and parquetry patterns, framed by large central cartouche panels inlaid with floral bouquet and urn motifs rendered in contrasting rosewood, kingwood, and satinwood. The rich warm palette of amber, mahogany, and reddish-brown tones is sealed beneath a deep, mirror-like lacquer finish.

Gilded Ormolu Mounts

Ornate cast-brass ormolu mounts — including scrolling corner sabots, foliate escutcheons, sinuous side handles, and elaborate cabriole-leg caps — are hand-finished in antique gold, providing luminous contrast against the dark veneer ground.

Masterful Craftsmanship

Constructed from solid wood foundations with hand-applied veneers, this commode is entirely handcrafted by Brass & Wood artisans in Egypt. Dimensions: 92 cm height × 105 cm width × 50 cm depth. Three generous drawers provide ample storage without compromising the piece's sculptural elegance.
