Design Inspiration

Rooted in the golden age of French court culture, this tea trolley captures the exuberant spirit of Louis XV Rococo design. Asymmetric curves, lavish gilt-bronze acanthus scrollwork, and the characteristic cabriole legs ending in delicate sabots echo the masterworks produced by the finest Parisian ébénistes of the eighteenth century. The piece is as much an objet d'art as it is a functional service table, commanding attention in any grand salon or receiving room.

Materials & Finish

The frame is constructed from premium solid mahogany, hand-shaped and finished to reveal the wood's natural flame-figured grain. The surface carries a deep, lustrous lacquer that enriches the reddish-brown tones prized in period furniture. Three removable trays are lined with blush-pink fabric, each framed by a shaped gilt-bronze gallery. The elaborate central superstructure — an openwork cascade of acanthus leaves, C-scrolls, and foliate volutes — is cast from solid brass and hand-chased before receiving a warm gold finish. Additional ormolu mounts accent the knees, apron cartouche, and stretcher medallion.

Craftsmanship

Every component of this trolley is handcrafted by Brass & Wood artisans in Egypt using time-honoured techniques passed down through generations. The brass castings are individually filed and burnished; the mahogany frame is mortise-and-tenon joined for structural integrity; and each tray gallery is fitted by hand to ensure perfect alignment. The result is a heirloom-quality piece that faithfully honours the legacy of eighteenth-century French decorative arts.
