The large acanthus leaf medallions at the leg-to-apron junction are hand-carved, then finished in warm antique gold — individually worked to catch the light from multiple angles. The drawer pull is cast brass in the Louis XVI ribbon-and-rosette form, with a weight in the hand that communicates solidity. Above it all, an Emperador dark marble slab — deep brown with cream and amber veining — crowns the piece. The marble's warmth against the ivory lacquer is the defining visual contrast of this nightstand.
