Rococo Brass Ashtray with Acanthus Frame & Ornate Leaf Feet

Design & Inspiration

This extraordinary ashtray draws its visual language from the exuberant spirit of Rococo, the 18th-century European court style that transformed functional objects into sculptural works of art. The circular form is crowned at the apex with a bold acanthus-leaf finial, while generous scrollwork cascades symmetrically around the rim — every curl and flourish cast with the confidence of a master craftsman's hand. Three sweeping acanthus-leaf feet lift the piece off the surface, giving it the bearing of a ceremonial object rather than a mere household accessory.

Materials & Craftsmanship

The body is cast in solid brass using the lost-wax method, allowing the deep undercuts and layered relief of the acanthus scrolls to be faithfully reproduced in full three-dimensional detail. The glass insert sits flush within the brass frame, its frosted surface contrasting elegantly with the warm metallic luster of the surround. The finish is applied by hand, polished to bring out the rich warmth of the metal. Every element — from the central cartouche to the feathered tips of the leaf feet — is refined individually before assembly, ensuring a level of detail that machine production cannot replicate.

Dimensions & Details

Diameter: 22 cm | Height: 6 cm. The generous diameter of 22 cm provides a wide, stable surface, while the 6 cm elevation on the three leaf feet creates a sense of visual lightness and ceremonial presence. Compact enough for a desk or side table, yet substantial enough to command attention on a console or reception surface. Weight: 4 kg — the heft of genuine solid brass craftsmanship.
