Rococo Brass Circular Wall Frame with Ribbon Bow & Acanthus Wreath

Design & Inspiration

Few decorative objects command a wall with the theatricality of this Rococo brass circular wall frame. Suspended from a masterfully sculpted ribbon bow — its loops and trailing ends caught in mid-flutter as if tied by the hand of an 18th-century Parisian artisan — the frame descends through a cascade of rocaille scrollwork into a circular medallion of exceptional visual weight. This is a piece that transforms any wall into a curated gallery, evoking the gilded interiors of Versailles and the intimate boudoirs of the Louis XV court.

Materials & Craftsmanship

Cast in high-quality brass and finished by hand, every element of this frame reveals the skill of Egyptian craftsmen working in the grand European tradition. The ribbon bow at the crown is modelled with convincing three-dimensional depth, its striations and folds catching light from every angle. The circular frame itself is encircled by a dense wreath of acanthus leaves — one of the most enduring motifs in Western decorative arts — their curling tips rendered with botanical precision. Flanking scroll volutes and a swag of foliage at the lower register add layered depth, while the warm brass finish imparts the luminous golden tone characteristic of the finest French ormolu work.
