Rooted in the grandeur of 18th-century French Rococo, this 2-seat salon sofa captures the playful curves and lavish ornamental spirit of the Louis XV era. The dramatically arched backrest, scrolled armrests, and cabriole legs adorned with gilded acanthus-leaf carvings recall the finest pieces commissioned for the Palace of Versailles. Brass & Wood artisans study historical references meticulously to reproduce every flourish with fidelity.

Materials & Finish

The structural frame is built from kiln-dried solid hardwood, shaped and hand-carved in Cairo workshops before receiving a rich dark-brown finish layered beneath hand-applied gold-leaf gilding. Ornamental motifs — scrolls, floral rosettes, and foliate sprays — are individually carved and gilded, lending depth and luminosity. The upholstery is rendered in a soft cream fabric with a plain-weave surface and delicately fringed cushion trim, harmonising with the warm gold accents.

Craftsmanship

Each sofa passes through the hands of multiple specialist craftsmen: frame carpenters, gilders, and upholsterers — all operating within Brass & Wood's Cairo atelier. The cushions are filled with high-density foam for enduring support without sacrificing comfort, and the seat and back cushions are removable for ease of care. Every joint is hand-fitted and every carved detail inspected before delivery.

Care & Placement

Dust regularly with a dry cloth and avoid prolonged direct sunlight to preserve the gilded finish and fabric colour. Professional cleaning is recommended for deeper maintenance.
