Louis XVI 3-Seat Gilded Salon Sofa – Sage Damask Brocade
Royal Inspiration: The Louis XVI Legacy
Born from the refined elegance of late 18th-century French court aesthetics, this 3-seat salon sofa channels the neoclassical discipline and aristocratic grandeur of the Louis XVI era. Every curve, every carved motif, and every gilded accent speaks to a tradition of timeless luxury that Brass & Wood proudly carries into the contemporary home.
Upholstery & Fabric
The sofa is lavishly upholstered in a sage-green damask brocade fabric, woven with soft rose-gold floral and foliate patterns that shimmer subtly in natural light. The three back cushions, two cylindrical bolster cushions with ornate rosette medallions, and one square accent cushion are all dressed in the same bespoke fabric and finished with elaborately twisted silk tassels in tonal sage and gold.
Frame & Craftsmanship
The solid wood frame is finished in brilliant gold leaf, hand-applied by Brass & Wood master gilders in Egypt. The arched backrest crowns with an intricate carved floral crest, while the frame borders are detailed with a continuous rope-twist and bead-and-reel moulding. The gracefully tapered, fluted front legs taper to delicate gilt feet, exemplifying the Louis XVI preference for geometric precision over Rococo flourish. Armrests feature carved acanthus-scroll terminals capped with square gilt plinths.
Comfort & Construction
Three generously padded seat cushions provide a medium-firm seating experience suited to formal salon use. The deep, softly tufted backrest offers ergonomic support while maintaining the sofa's stately silhouette. Brass & Wood crafts each piece to order in its Cairo atelier, ensuring every detail meets the highest standards of classical European furniture replication.
