Design Inspiration

Drawing from the golden age of French court furniture, this 2-seat salon sofa captures the essence of Louis XV style — organic curves, asymmetrical flourishes, and an air of refined opulence. The dramatically arched backrest and scrolled arms echo the Rococo spirit, while the ivory damask upholstery adds a luminous softness befitting the grandest of living rooms.

Materials & Finish

The solid wood frame is hand-carved from fine hardwoods and finished in a rich, deep-toned varnish that highlights the intricate floral and foliate marquetry inlaid across the apron, back panel and side panels. Gilded brass ormolu mounts — including acanthus-leaf knee ornaments, cartouche accents and claw-foot sabots — catch the light with a warm antique gold gleam. The upholstery fabric is a lustrous ivory damask with a subtle tone-on-tone floral pattern, complemented by two decorative cushions.

Craftsmanship

Every element of this sofa is handcrafted by Brass & Wood artisans in Egypt. The marquetry inlay is individually cut and set by hand; the brass castings are hand-finished and gilded; and the upholstery is hand-fitted to follow the organic contours of the carved frame. The result is a piece that upholds centuries-old European cabinetmaking traditions with contemporary precision.
