Design Inspiration

Drawing from the exuberant vocabulary of Rococo and Baroque decorative arts, this dining table is a statement piece conceived for grand reception halls and palatial dining rooms. The silhouette recalls the grandeur of 18th-century European court furniture: an octagonally chamfered tabletop resting on a sweeping pedestal base whose arched panels overflow with hand-carved acanthus scrolls, palmette fans, and foliate tendrils. Every curve and relief has been composed to guide the eye in continuous, joyful motion — the hallmark of true Rococo design.

Materials & Finish

The entire piece is crafted in solid fine hardwood and finished in a warm ivory lacquer that lends a luminous, porcelain-like quality to the surface. The apron panel running around all four sides of the tabletop is hand-painted with an intricate multicolour floral frieze — blooms, scrolling vines, and botanical motifs rendered in soft gold, sage green, blush pink, and sky blue — outlined with slender gold pinstripe borders that accentuate the chamfered edges of the top. The base is left in matching ivory lacquer, allowing the carved relief to play with light and shadow.

Craftsmanship

Made to order exclusively by Brass & Wood master craftsmen in Cairo, the table is entirely hand-worked: each panel of the pedestal base is individually carved, the painted frieze is applied by a specialist decorative painter, and the final lacquer coats are hand-rubbed to a smooth satin sheen. No factory replication is involved at any stage. The result is a one-of-a-kind heirloom that grows more distinguished with time.
