5-Seat Neoclassical Salon Sofa with Gilt Lattice Arms
Design Inspiration
Drawing from the refined grandeur of Neoclassical European tradition, this 5-seat salon sofa by Brass & Wood captures the architectural elegance of late 18th-century drawing rooms. The sofa's most distinctive feature — its intricately worked gilt lattice side panels with repeating ogival and circular motifs — echoes the decorative ironwork and gilded woodwork found in grand Parisian and Viennese interiors of the Empire and Directoire periods.
Materials & Finish
The solid wood frame is finished in a rich medium-brown tone, providing a warm, classic contrast to the gleaming gold-leaf accent details. Turned and fluted corner columns rise to carved capital details, while the base rail and tapered legs are crowned with gilded bun feet. The generous seat, back, and arm cushions are upholstered in a soft ivory fabric with a subtle velvet-like sheen, offering both visual luxury and tactile comfort.
Craftsmanship
Every element of this piece is handcrafted in Egypt by Brass & Wood's master artisans. The gilt lattice panels are individually assembled and finished by hand, ensuring no two sofas are exactly alike. Traditional joinery techniques and meticulous hand-finishing ensure structural integrity and a surface quality worthy of the finest classical interiors.
