Design Inspiration

Drawing from the rich heritage of Islamic and Moorish architectural ornament, this 5-seat salon sofa channels centuries of arabesque artistry into a commanding living room centrepiece. Sweeping floral and vine motifs cascade across every panel, creating a visual rhythm that is both meditative and grand. The open-lattice side panels recall the intricate mashrabiya screens of historic palaces, lending the piece an unmistakable sense of provenance and prestige.

Materials & Upholstery

The structural frame is constructed from seasoned solid hardwood, chosen for its exceptional density and resistance to warping. Every external surface is enveloped in deeply relief-carved arabesque panels finished to a warm honey-brown tone. The generous seating surface is dressed in a soft cream fabric, providing a luminous contrast against the richness of the carved wood. Accent cushions in a blue-and-white brocade — reminiscent of fine ceramic blue-ware — complete the composition with a touch of classical elegance.

Craftsmanship

Each sofa is entirely handcrafted by Brass & Wood master artisans in Egypt. The carving alone represents dozens of hours of meticulous chisel work, with no two pieces yielding an identical pattern. Joints are mortise-and-tenon constructed for heirloom-grade durability. The result is a functional sculpture that grows more characterful with time.

As shown in the product imagery, this piece measures approximately 283 cm in length, 80 cm in depth, and 92 cm in height. The sofa is also available as part of an L-shaped salon configuration. Custom dimensions and upholstery colours are available upon request through Brass & Wood.
