Cane Louis XV Bedroom Set in Antique Cream

The bed leads with a tall winged headboard whose shaped crest is carved with ribbon knots and trailing flowers, the frame filled edge to edge with hand-woven cane in a warm biscuit tone. The footboard answers it with a low curved panel of the same weave, centred on a carved oval cartouche and rolling outward to scrolled feet. Beside it stands a round bedside table with a shaped stone top, a single drawer in the frieze, an open shelf below and a curved caned cabinet beneath that, raised on splayed cabriole legs. Everything is finished in a soft antique cream, rubbed back over the carving so the relief keeps its shadow.

Each frame is carved from solid timber by hand, and every cane panel is woven and stretched on site so the weave sits tight and even inside its moulded border. The cream lacquer is then built up in layers, distressed and waxed to the same tone across the bed and the case piece, so the group reads as one. Handcrafted by Brass & Wood in Egypt, it suits a light, airy bedroom where the caned panels can keep the room feeling open rather than heavy.
