Florence Round Bedside Commode with Caned Door

A round bedside commode in a chalky antique-white finish, rubbed back just enough to let the grain show through. A single drawer with a small brass knob sits directly beneath the circular top, an open shelf runs below it for books or a folded throw, and the lower section curves shut behind a caned door with a matching brass pull. Four reeded columns rise the full height of the piece and step out into shaped feet.

The cane is hand-woven into its curved door, and the columns are turned and reeded by hand before the white finish is applied and gently distressed. Handcrafted by Brass & Wood in Egypt, its round footprint makes it easy to live with beside a bed, in a narrow corner, or between two armchairs where a square table would feel heavy.
