French Provincial Round Cane-Panel Nightstand with White Marble Top

Design & Inspiration

There is a particular quality to a bedroom furnished with pieces that feel light without being insubstantial — where the eye moves easily across surfaces that are elegant rather than imposing. This round nightstand draws from the French Provincial tradition: the country interpretation of Parisian Rococo, where graceful curves and natural textures replaced gilded grandeur with something closer to everyday refinement. The cylindrical silhouette, the woven cane cabinet panel, and the cool white marble top work together to bring that same unhurried elegance into the modern bedroom.

Materials & Craftsmanship

The frame is handcrafted from solid beech, turned and shaped into four slender, subtly fluted legs that taper slightly at the foot — a detail borrowed directly from 18th-century provincial cabinetry. The body is finished in a clean off-white painted lacquer that gives the piece its light, airy character without obscuring the wood's structural integrity. The lower cabinet door features hand-woven cane mesh set within a painted frame, secured by a small antique-gold brass knob that adds a warm metallic accent. Above the cabinet, a single shallow drawer — also fitted with a matching antique-gold pull — provides discrete bedside storage. The top is a solid white marble slab with natural grey veining, cool to the touch and highly resistant to everyday wear.

Dimensions & Details

Diameter: 55 cm / Height: 73 cm
The round footprint makes this nightstand versatile in room layouts where corners or curved walls are involved. The open mid-shelf offers accessible space for books or a small lamp. The cane-door cabinet below provides concealed storage. Antique-gold brass hardware throughout.

Handcrafted in Egypt

Every piece produced by Brass & Wood is handcrafted in Egypt by skilled artisans who have trained in classical European joinery and finishing techniques. The painted finish is applied by hand in multiple coats, sanded between layers for a smooth, durable surface. The cane weaving is executed by hand, panel by panel, in the traditional open-weave pattern. This is not mass production — each nightstand is built individually, and minor natural variations in the marble veining and cane pattern are a mark of authentic handcraft, not inconsistency.
