Lorraine Classic Bed with Upholstered Beige Velvet Headboard and Footboard

A quietly elegant bed in the French country manner, with a broad headboard panel upholstered in soft beige velvet and set into a slim painted frame whose top edge rises in a gentle camel arch. The footboard repeats the same upholstered panel on a lower, shallower curve, so the bed reads as one calm composition from every side. Turned posts finished with rounded finials mark the four corners, tapering down to neat turned feet, and the frame is painted in a warm, chalky white that sets off the velvet without competing with it.

The frame is hand-turned and hand-jointed in solid timber, and the panels are padded and hand-upholstered so the fabric pulls tight and even across each curve. Handcrafted by Brass & Wood in Egypt, it suits a bedroom that leans restrained rather than ornate — layered neutral bedding, a pair of simple bedside commodes, and enough quiet in the lines to sit comfortably in a classic or a contemporary room.
