Louis XV Rococo Gilded Corner Table with Carved Floral Apron & Marble Top

Design & Inspiration

Set this table beside a chaise longue or at the edge of a salon arrangement and it immediately organizes the room around itself. The four sweeping cabriole legs — each terminating in a delicate scroll foot and rising through a carved acanthus knee — carry the eye upward to a shaped apron dense with hand-carved roses, tulips, and foliage, and then to the cool, veined marble top that brings everything to rest. This is the grammar of Louis XV Rococo: every line in gentle motion, every surface given purpose through ornament.

Materials & Craftsmanship

The frame is built from solid beech, chosen for its stability and the depth of relief it yields under a carver's chisel. An antiqued gold finish has been applied in layers — warm amber at the depths of the carving, brighter gilding at the crests — so the piece reads differently in morning light than by lamplight. The top is set in Crema Marfil marble, its warm beige ground threaded with fine cream veining that complements the gilded frame without competing with it. The shaped top edge follows the serpentine profile of the apron below, maintaining the Rococo principle that every element should flow into the next.

Dimensions & Details

Width: 45 cm / Depth: 45 cm / Height: 64 cm
The compact square footprint fits naturally beside a bergère armchair, at the head of a bed, or flanking a console in an entrance hall. At 64 cm, the table height aligns with standard sofa arm height — practical for a drinks tray or bedside lamp without demanding to be the dominant piece in the room.

Handcrafted in Egypt

Every carved floral cluster on the apron was cut by hand in Brass & Wood's Cairo atelier, following Louis XV carving patterns studied from period originals. The gilded finish is hand-applied and hand-rubbed, giving each table a subtly individual character. This is not a cast or stamped piece — the tool marks behind the roses are evidence of time spent, not shortcuts taken.
