Louis XV Round Side Table – Marble Top & Ormolu Mounts on Mahogany
Design Inspiration
Rooted in the golden age of French Rococo, this round side table embodies the graceful exuberance of the Louis XV era. Sinuous cabriole legs, a serpentine apron adorned with a central floral ormolu cartouche, and a sumptuous marble top recreate the spirit of the great Parisian ateliers of the 18th century. Every curve tells a story of courtly refinement.
Materials & Finishes
The table is built on a solid mahogany frame finished in a deep warm polish that highlights the wood's natural grain. Cast brass ormolu mounts — including corner acanthus brackets, a central floral-basket motif on the apron, and delicate sabots at the feet — are hand-finished in antique gold. The circular top is dressed in genuine honey-beige veined marble, set within a stepped mahogany surround edged in brass, creating a striking visual crown.
Craftsmanship
Every piece is handcrafted by Brass & Wood artisans in Egypt, blending centuries-old European joinery traditions with meticulous hand-finishing. The X-form stretcher connecting the four cabriole legs is itself a sculptural element, shaped and polished to perfection. Brass inlay banding traces the apron and leg edges, adding a jewel-like precision that elevates the entire silhouette.
