Louis XVI Demilune Console with Ormolu Garlands and Marble Top
LE 45,000.00
The demilune — a half-moon plan designed to sit flat against a wall — is one of the most disciplined forms the Louis XVI period produced. Here it is executed in warm mahogany, its frieze set with a beaded gilt bronze band and hung with cast laurel garlands that swag between the legs.
Fluted tapered columns headed by acanthus capitals carry the frame, joined by a curved stretcher that meets at a turned urn finial. A cream marble top follows the curve. Handcrafted by Brass & Wood in Egypt.
