Louis XVI Nesting Service Tables – Marquetry & Gilt Bronze
Design Inspiration
Rooted in the refined elegance of the Louis XVI court, this set of nesting service tables captures the Neoclassical ideal of disciplined beauty. The progressive silhouette — from the grand gallery-topped primary table to the petite fourth — reflects the French cabinetmaker's mastery of proportion and hierarchy. Each piece complements the next, making this quartet as functional as it is sculptural.
Materials & Finish
Crafted from solid mahogany, each tabletop is dressed in hand-cut floral marquetry, assembling delicate rosette and foliate motifs in contrasting hardwoods. The perimeter of the principal table is crowned with a pierced gilt-bronze gallery of exceptional delicacy. Ormolu mounts at the apron corners and tapered, fluted legs terminating in polished brass sabots complete an aristocratic silhouette faithful to 18th-century Parisian workshops.
Craftsmanship at Brass & Wood
Every table in this set is handcrafted in the Brass & Wood atelier using traditional joinery and hand-applied finishes. Marquetry panels are individually cut and laid by skilled artisans, while all bronze and brass elements are cast, hand-chased, and gilded in-house. The result is a faithful replica of museum-quality French furniture, made to enrich the most discerning interiors.
