Nantes Marquetry Coffee Table

Design Inspiration

Drawing from the refined sensibility of Neoclassical European interiors, this tea table evokes the grand tradition of painted furniture celebrated in 18th-century aristocratic salons. The ivory lacquer ground serves as a luminous canvas for a sweeping hand-painted composition of sinuous floral vines, vivid blossoms in coral, amber, and cobalt, exotic birds in flight, and resting wildlife — a tableau alive with movement and botanical wonder.

Materials & Finish

Crafted from premium solid wood, the table's tapered, fluted legs and apron panels are finished in a warm ivory lacquer with subtle gilded accents. The tabletop marquetry-style painted surface is sealed beneath multiple protective coats, ensuring longevity while preserving every brushstroke's luminous depth. Floral medallions adorn each apron panel, extending the artistic narrative beyond the tabletop.

Craftsmanship

Every detail of this piece is executed by Brass & Wood's master artisans in Egypt, who combine time-honoured European cabinetmaking techniques with meticulous hand-painting. The result is a singular objet d'art that transcends function — equally at home as a centrepiece in a classical drawing room or a modern luxury interior seeking a statement anchor.
