2-Seat Empire Salon Sofa with Gilt Wood & Inlaid Veneer
Imperial Grandeur Reimagined
The Brass & Wood Empire Salon Sofa is a faithful tribute to the bold aesthetic of the Napoleonic Empire period. Its commanding silhouette — defined by a deep, box-like seat, sharply squared arms and a wide solid backrest — echoes the architectural confidence of early 19th-century European court furniture. Every curve, line, and ornamental detail has been meticulously studied from original museum-quality pieces and faithfully recreated by master craftsmen in Egypt.
Materials & Finish
The outer back and side panels are dressed in richly figured burr-veneer framed by geometric brass-inlaid ebonised borders, lending depth and warmth to the dark lacquered solid wood frame. The front apron showcases a hand-carved, fully gilded brass laurel-wreath mount — a hallmark of Empire decorative vocabulary. Bun feet finished in antique gold stand at each corner, while gilded ring-chain mouldings run along the arm pilasters. A lion-head medallion in gilded metal is set at the corner post on each side, completing the regal statement.
Upholstery & Comfort
The seat, inner back, and arms are upholstered in a luxurious floral-damask fabric in soft champagne and grey tones, providing a refined contrast to the dark wood frame. Four generously filled scatter cushions in a complementary cream tone invite relaxed, elegant lounging. The seat offers a firm yet comfortable feel consistent with the structured Empire aesthetic, supported by a quality internal foundation.
Craftsmanship & Customisation
Entirely handcrafted in the Brass & Wood atelier, this sofa is available for customisation in alternative fabrics, frame finishes, and brass tones to suit individual interiors. It is ideally placed in a formal living room, grand reception hall, private library, or executive office as a centrepiece statement piece.
