Louis XV Bergère Salon Chair – Gilded Wood & Damask Upholstery
Design & Inspiration
The ROOMCH8321 Bergère draws directly from the opulent court interiors of 18th-century France. The Louis XV style is celebrated for its fluid, asymmetrical curves, shell and floral cartouches, and the sense of refined comfort it brings to grand salons. Brass & Wood has faithfully replicated these hallmarks, producing a chair that feels simultaneously historic and alive with artisanal energy.
Frame & Finish
The frame is constructed from a solid hardwood core and entirely enveloped in hand-applied gilded finish, achieving a warm, luminous gold tone throughout. The crest rail, apron, and cabriole legs are densely carved with acanthus scrolls, rosettes, floral clusters, and shell motifs — every detail executed by skilled Egyptian craftsmen working in the classical European tradition.
Upholstery & Comfort
The back, seat, and side panels are upholstered in a champagne-gold damask fabric whose tone-on-tone floral and scrollwork pattern mirrors the carved ornament of the frame. A coordinating lumbar cushion with silk-look fabric and tassel trim completes the ensemble. Braided gimp trim follows the seat cushion perimeter, reinforcing the period-authentic aesthetic. The generous seat cushion is filled for comfortable medium-firm support ideal for salon seating.
Craftsmanship & Heritage
Every chair is handcrafted at the Brass & Wood atelier in Egypt, where classical European furniture-making traditions are preserved and practiced. Each piece passes through multiple stages of hand-carving, hand-gilding, and upholstery before it leaves the workshop — ensuring that no two chairs are entirely identical and that every owner receives a genuine work of decorative art.
