Neoclassical Marble Column Pedestal with Gilt Brass Corinthian Capital
Design Inspiration
Drawing from the grandeur of ancient Greek and Roman architecture, this column pedestal embodies the Neoclassical ideal of symmetry, proportion, and noble simplicity. Its fluted cylindrical shaft rises from a stepped square plinth adorned with gilt medallions and an acanthus-leaf Corinthian capital — evoking the colonnades of imperial palazzi and the salons of 18th-century European aristocracy.
Materials & Finish
Crafted from warm beige marble with natural veining, the pedestal is enriched with hand-applied antique gilt brass fittings: a sculpted Corinthian capital, a collar ring at the base of the shaft, decorative acanthus medallions on the plinth faces, and a fine engraved brass band along the plinth border. Every metal accent is finished in rich antique brass to complement the natural stone.
Craftsmanship
Each piece is handcrafted in Egypt by Brass & Wood master artisans who blend centuries-old European classical techniques with meticulous hand-finishing. The marble is carefully selected, shaped, and polished; the brass fittings are individually cast and hand-chased to achieve the depth and warmth that only true artisanal work can deliver.
