Louis XV Marquetry Coffee Table with Ormolu Mounts
Design Inspiration
Rooted in the exuberant spirit of 18th-century French Rococo, this coffee table channels the grandeur of the Louis XV court. Its shaped, serpentine apron, cabriole legs with ormolu sabots, and a lavishly inlaid tabletop evoke the opulent interiors of Versailles — reimagined for today's luxury living spaces by Brass & Wood.
Materials & Finish
Constructed from kiln-dried solid hardwood, the table showcases a rich walnut-toned veneer as the canvas for its hand-laid floral marquetry. Intricate patterns of scrolling foliage, floral medallions, and symmetrical vines are inlaid across the entire surface. Every mount — from the central cartouche to the corner acanthus drops and garland swags — is cast in solid brass and finished in luxurious antique gold.
Craftsmanship
Each table is individually produced by Brass & Wood master craftsmen in Egypt, honoring centuries-old European joinery and marquetry traditions. The cabriole legs are hand-shaped, the apron is carved and gilded, and every brass fitting is hand-polished to a warm, luminous finish. The result is a piece that is as structurally enduring as it is visually captivating.
