Design Inspiration

Rooted in the opulence of 18th-century French court furniture, this bombe commode captures the flowing curves and romantic botanical motifs that define the Louis XV Rococo period. The serpentine silhouette and exuberant floral marquetry panels mirror the grandeur of Versailles' finest interiors.

Materials

Constructed from solid hardwood with richly figured mahogany veneers, the piece is crowned with a thick slab of natural veined marble in soft grey and beige tones. The marquetry inlay is executed in contrasting fruitwood and satinwood, forming lush bouquet and acanthus scroll motifs across the drawer fronts.

Craftsmanship

Every element is shaped and assembled by Brass & Wood's master artisans in Egypt, employing time-honoured joinery and hand-cut marquetry techniques. The cabriole legs are hand-carved and finished with a deep walnut lacquer, while ornamental brass keyhole escutcheons add an authentic period accent.
