Neoclassical Marble Pedestal Column with Gilded Corinthian Capital
Design Inspiration
Rooted in the grandeur of ancient Greek and Roman architecture, this pedestal column embodies the Neoclassical revival that swept European courts and palaces from the 18th century onward. The fluted shaft rises with quiet authority, recalling the temple colonnades of antiquity, while the elaborately carved Corinthian capital — with its swirling acanthus leaves cast in gleaming gilded brass — brings baroque richness to a fundamentally classical form. Every proportion has been studied and refined to achieve that perfect harmony between strength and grace.
Materials & Finish
The column shaft and base are crafted from genuine veined marble in soft grey-white tones, each piece unique due to the natural variation inherent in natural stone. The Corinthian capital and the base collar ring are finished in warm antique brass, hand-polished to a lustrous gold tone that complements the cool elegance of the marble. The result is a dialogue between stone and metal that has defined luxury interiors for centuries.
Craftsmanship
Each column is shaped and finished by Brass & Wood master artisans in Egypt, drawing on generations of stone-carving and metalworking tradition. The fluting is hand-cut into the marble shaft with precision chisels; the brass capital is sand-cast, then hand-chased and polished. This meticulous process ensures that every piece that leaves the workshop carries the hallmarks of authentic European classical craftsmanship.
