Materials & Craftsmanship

The frame is built from solid beech kiln-dried to below 10% humidity, ensuring dimensional stability through Egypt's seasonal changes. Every curve of the stretcher, every flute on the baluster legs, every acorn finial at the feet has been shaped and finished by hand. The antiqued gold finish is layered over the carved wood to enhance the relief of the carvings, allowing shadows to settle into the grooves and light to catch the high points — a technique that transforms a painted surface into something that reads as sculptural. The seat cushion is upholstered in cream cotton with a fine vertical channeled texture, a restrained counterpoint to the richly worked frame beneath.
