Drawing from the lavish court furniture of 18th-century Versailles, this commode embodies the fluid elegance of the Louis XV Rococo movement. Its serpentine silhouette, cabriole legs, and exuberant gilt bronze appliqués echo the masterworks of French ébénistes who defined an era of aristocratic refinement.

Exceptional Materials

The carcass is constructed from kiln-dried solid hardwood, veneered in book-matched mahogany with satin-smooth striped figuring. The top is dressed in a slab of genuine variegated marble — each piece unique in its warm ochre and burgundy veining. Foot sabots, drawer pulls, corner mounts, and floral cartouches are cast in solid brass and finished to a rich antique gold.

Four Drawers & Side Cabinet

Four generously proportioned drawers feature hand-cut dovetail joinery and run on seasoned wood-on-wood slides, while a full-height side door conceals additional storage. Every drawer face is symmetrically adorned with a central ormolu handle flanked by foliate brass inlay banding.

Craftsmanship

Every piece is entirely hand-built in Brass & Wood's Cairo atelier by artisans trained in classical European joinery and metal-chasing traditions. Finishing involves multiple stages of hand-rubbed lacquer to protect the veneer and intensify its natural luster, ensuring an heirloom-quality piece built to last generations.
