The frame is built from solid pine seasoned to below 10% humidity, ensuring dimensional stability that resists the warping and splitting common in lesser-quality reproductions. The cream finish is applied in layered paint coats, then lightly distressed by hand to achieve the softly worn patina characteristic of true Rococo provincial pieces. Each floral cluster on the apron — roses, open anemones, leafy sprigs — is carved and modeled individually by hand, then painted in polychrome with delicate shading. A braided cord trim at the seat-to-frame junction adds a final couture detail. The seat itself is generously padded and upholstered in ivory velvet, cut and fitted to the slightly rounded square plan of the top.
