Brass & Wood Neoclassical Gilt-Bronze Buffet
Design & Inspiration
This grand buffet draws its language from the Neoclassical tradition — the same vocabulary that graced the salons of late 18th-century Europe. Gilt-bronze swag-and-tassel friezes run across the drawer fronts, echoing the refined ornamental grammar of the Louis XVI period. Fluted tapered legs anchored by brass sabots complete the architectural silhouette.
Materials & Finish
The carcass and door panels are crafted from solid wood with a deep, richly grained veneer surface presenting warm dark-brown tones with natural flame figuring. Contrasting dark top and base mouldings frame the piece with graphic authority. All metal mounts are cast brass finished in antique gold, hand-chased for textural depth.
Craftsmanship
Every element — from the mitre-jointed door frames to the individually fitted brass hardware — is assembled and finished by hand in Brass & Wood's Cairo atelier. Doors open on full-width hinges to reveal shelved interiors, while the upper drawer tier provides discreet accessible storage.
