Inspired by the opulent decorative language of the Napoleon III era — a period defined by its love of grandeur, eclecticism, and rich material contrasts — this pedestal column unites deep burgundy-veined marble with luminous gilt-bronze ormolu mounts. The tapering central shaft, adorned with densely layered neoclassical motifs including draped figures, acanthus scrolls, and medallion reliefs, rises from an ornate urn-form base to a crowning capital platform that is both architectural and sculptural.

Materials & Finish

The body is crafted from genuine burgundy marble, selected for its dramatic veining and warm rose undertones. All decorative hardware — from the foliate garland frieze at the plinth base to the figural cartouches on the column shaft — is cast in brass and finished in antique gold, replicating the celebrated ormolu technique of nineteenth-century Parisian ateliers. The result is a seamless dialogue between cool stone and warm gilded metal.
