Louis XVI Neoclassical Nesting Service Tables – Burr Walnut & Gilt Brass

Design Inspiration

Drawn from the refined court furniture of late eighteenth-century Versailles, this set of four nesting service tables embodies the restrained elegance of the Louis XVI Neoclassical style. The oval silhouette of the principal table, softened by symmetrical cartouche-shaped ends, contrasts beautifully with the strictly rectangular forms of the three graduating side tables — a compositional balance that speaks the language of enlightened order and harmony.

Materials & Finish

Each tabletop is veneered in richly figured burr walnut, whose swirling, cloud-like grain patterns lend warmth and visual depth. Pierced gilt-brass galleries encircle the main table, while ormolu corner mounts adorned with acanthus and rosette motifs frame all four pieces. The slender, tapered, and fluted legs are turned from solid mahogany and finished in a deep walnut stain, terminating in polished antique-brass sabots that anchor every piece with quiet luxury.

Craftsmanship

Every element is shaped by Brass & Wood's master artisans in Egypt using time-honoured techniques — hand-cut veneers, individually cast brass ornaments, and hand-turned fluted legs — ensuring that each set carries the character of a genuine antique replica rather than a mass-produced imitation.
