3-Seat Louis XVI Damask Salon Sofa with Gilt Wood Frame
Design Inspiration
Drawing from the refined vocabulary of Louis XVI Neoclassical design, this 3-seat salon sofa channels the grandeur of 18th-century French court interiors. Clean geometric lines, symmetrical silhouette, and a straight-backed rectangular frame evoke the discipline of Neoclassicism, while the elaborate gilt acanthus and ribbon carvings crowning the top rail introduce an irresistible warmth and opulence.
Upholstery & Fabric
The sofa is dressed in a sumptuous ivory damask fabric whose subtle tone-on-tone floral and foliate motifs catch the light beautifully. Three generous scatter cushions — two at the sides and one at centre — echo the same fabric, creating a cohesive, layered look. The upholstery is fitted cleanly within the carved frame, allowing every gilded detail to remain the focal point.
Frame & Craftsmanship
The solid wood frame is finished in a rich dark tone that contrasts dramatically with the ivory upholstery. Every exposed surface — the top rail, armrests, seat apron, and eight tapered fluted legs — is embellished with hand-applied gold leaf accents. Carved acanthus rosettes punctuate the leg tops, rope-twist moulding runs along the apron, and a central gilt motif of intertwined ribbons and feathers crowns the backrest. Each piece is entirely handcrafted by Brass & Wood artisans in Egypt.
Placement & Styling
Ideal as the centrepiece of a formal living room, reception hall, or classic study. Pair with Louis XVI armchairs, a gilded console, and parquet flooring for an authentic period ensemble, or use as a statement anchor in a contemporary eclectic interior.
