Royal French Inspiration

Drawing directly from the opulent courts of 18th-century Versailles, this bombe commode embodies the free-flowing sensuality of the Louis XV Rococo movement. Its dramatically curved silhouette — swelling outward on all sides — is a hallmark of the period's rejection of rigid symmetry in favour of organic, nature-inspired form.

Exceptional Materials

The carcase is constructed from solid hardwood and dressed in meticulously book-matched burr walnut veneers, showcasing the wood's naturally swirling, flame-like figure. The surface is hand-finished to a deep, warm lacquer that enriches the grain. Crowning the piece is a slab of genuine veined marble in soft rose and ivory tones, adding weight, grandeur, and timeless elegance.

Ormolu Gilt Brass Mounts

Every hardware element — from the rocaille escutcheons and bail-pull handles to the acanthus corner mounts and scroll-carved sabots — is cast in solid brass and hand-finished to a rich antique gold tone. These ormolu-style mounts are both decorative and structural, protecting the corners and feet of the piece as they would have on an original 18th-century commode.

Handcrafted Artistry by Brass & Wood

Each commode is handmade in our Cairo atelier by skilled craftsmen trained in classical European joinery and gilding techniques. Dovetail-jointed drawers glide smoothly on hand-fitted runners, and every surface is inspected and finished by hand before leaving our workshop — ensuring a heirloom-quality piece built to last generations.
