Inspired by the opulent courts of 18th-century France, this bombe commode embodies the curvaceous elegance and exuberant ornamentation that define the Louis XV Rococo style. Its swelling serpentine silhouette and cabriole legs with gilded sabots evoke the grandeur of Versailles palace interiors.

Exceptional Materials

The carcass is constructed from solid hardwood, finished with hand-cut walnut and fruitwood marquetry veneers arranged in a stunning symmetrical floral and ribbon pattern. The top is dressed in a deep black marble slab with shaped serpentine edges, while all mounts — handles, corner guards, apron cartouche, and foot caps — are cast in solid brass with an antique gold finish.

Master Craftsmanship

Each commode is handcrafted in Egypt by Brass & Wood artisans who employ traditional European joinery and hand-finishing techniques. The marquetry is individually inlaid piece by piece, the ormolu mounts are hand-chased and polished, and the entire surface is hand-lacquered to a high gloss that protects and enhances the natural warmth of the wood.
